The Thai government has eased entry restrictions for holidaymakers from Germany, Austria and numerous other countries. Germans and Austrians can now enter Thailand again without a visa.

Good news at the end of 2020 for everyone planning a vacation in Thailand: German vacationers can now enter Thailand as usual without a visa. After several months without foreign tourists, this is another small ray of hope for the Thai tourism industry. The easing applies to holidaymakers from a total of around 55 countries and should of course help ensure that as many foreign tourists as possible spend their holidays in Thailand during the main travel season and thus give the ailing economy a boost.

Visa-free entry to Thailand with quarantine & negative corona test

At first glance, it almost sounds as if Thailand is now getting ready for an onslaught of numerous holidaymakers. But if you want to escape the winter in Europe, you should consider the following points before booking your trip to Thailand and packing your suitcase:

Compulsory quarantine in a state-approved quarantine hotel: The 14-day quarantine continues to apply. The corresponding hotel for the first 14 days must be booked before departure.

Negative corona test: In addition, everyone entering Thailand must present a negative corona test not older than 72 hours.

Stay in Thailand for a maximum of 45 days without a visa

To make Thailand even more palatable to foreign tourists, it has been announced that the maximum length of stay in Thailand without a visa has been increased to 45 days.
