Do you want to emigrate to Thailand and live cheaply in Thailand? Then you should familiarize yourself with the cost of living in Thailand in advance.
Where in Thailand should you go? That’s the first question, so to speak, because the choice of your city or region can have a major impact on the cost of your accommodation. It is obvious that rents are higher in popular tourist regions than far away from the tourist centers. Living on an island tends to be more expensive than mainland Thailand.
If you have ever been to the German North Sea islands of Sylt or Amrum, then you will surely understand what I mean. It starts with the cost of accommodation and ends, so to speak, with a visit to a restaurant or the supermarket. After all, all goods have to be transported to the island somehow and that means additional costs.
Biggest cost factor: Your accommodation in Thailand
If you want to live in Thailand and have, for example, 1,000 euros a month at your disposal, then it is obvious that there is no point in looking for accommodation in a prime location with sea views for the equivalent of 600-700 euros.
But don’t worry, you can find relatively comfortable accommodation in Thailand for well under 400 euros per month.
