Corona in Thailand: The government has extended the entry ban for tourists until the end of June 2020. International flights are still not taking place.

This is really bad news for all Thailand vacationers and emigrants, but it was also quite foreseeable: The Thai government has announced that the existing flight ban on international flights will be extended again. Now no holidaymakers, tourists or Thailand emigrants are allowed to travel until the end of June 2020.

For the normal tourist this would certainly not be so dramatic, because then the trip to Thailand will simply start at a later point in time. However, many Germans also have family in Thailand and the extension is of course particularly hard for this group of people. In addition, of course, there are also numerous emigrants who have started a new life and often a business in Thailand. Quite a few of them in tourism-related areas such as hotels, holiday homes or in the catering industry.

But of course it’s not just the small companies and individuals who are suffering greatly from Corona and are currently facing existential problems. The airline Thai Airways has also gotten into serious trouble and everything seems to be heading towards bankruptcy for the airline.
