Good news for everyone who is currently planning a holiday in Thailand: Thailand will relax entry rules from March 1, 2022.
Are you planning a holiday in Thailand, but don’t feel like spending days in hotel quarantine? Then a holiday in Thailand from April 2022 might be interesting for you again. Because Thailand will relax the entry requirements for foreign tourists again from March 1st, 2022.
From March you only have to spend one night in hotel quarantine when you enter Thailand. However, the prerequisite is that you have been vaccinated at least twice. As part of the Test&Go concept, which will apply again from March, only one PCR test is required. You then have to spend a night in a specialized quarantine hotel and wait for the test result.
Second PCR test on day five omitted
So far, vacationers in Thailand had to take a second PCR test on the fifth day and spend another night in a quarantine hotel. Both will be eliminated from March 2022, provided you have been vaccinated twice.
Instead of a PCT test, however, holidaymakers now have to take an antigen test on the fifth day. This can be done independently and the result must be transmitted to the Thai authorities via an app. Ultimately, this means less time expenditure for holidaymakers and of course lower costs.
Thailand-Pass still required
In addition to a valid tourist visa, the so-called Thailand pass is also required for entry into Thailand. This is a web-based system for travellers. Here you have to submit your travel information and health information in advance. If your application is approved, you will receive a QR code. Together with Visa and the QR code you can then enter Thailand.
